Face lift
Getting older takes its toll on the delicate skin of the face and neck. Exposure to smog, sun damage and stress contribute as well to the aging process. For many, a Facelift is the answer to maintaining a youthful look and aging “gracefully.”
Men and women alike are having Facelifts because they know that looking their best can help them be successful in competitive job markets and feel more confident socially. A Facelift done by a skilled plastic surgeon can improve your appearance subtly or dramatically depending on the effect you are seeking.
What is a Facelift?
A Facelift (also known as a rhytidectomy and rhytidoplasty) is an operation whose goal is to reduce the sags and wrinkles of the lower face and neck. A Facelift does not involve the following areas: neck lift, brow lift, or upper and lower eyelift. It is common to perform one or more of these operations at the time of the Facelift in order to assure a unified and rejuvenated look for the entire face.
The ideal Facelift candidate (male or female) has some sagging of skin but still retains good skin elasticity. Patient age ranges from the mid-thirties up into the sixties are common. The best way to determine if you are a good candidate for this surgery is to consult with a qualified plastic surgeon.
