Eyelid surgery
Skin sags, fatty tissues builds up and over time your appearance may begin to look rundown and tired. Through Eyelid Surgery (also called blepharoplasty), excess skin, muscle and fat can be removed and a more youthful appearance restored to the eyes.
You may choose to have just the upper lid, or just the lower lid, or both done during your Eyelid surgery depending upon your goals. A qualified, experienced plastic surgeon can help you understand the benefits of the surgery for your particular case.
The Eyelid Surgery Procedure
Eyelid Surgery entails the removal of extra skin, fatty tissue and some muscle from the areas immediately surrounding the upper and lower eyelids. Eyelid surgery can help rejuvenate your upper and lower eyelids, but it is not designed to treat things like crow's feet or sagging eyebrows. For this reason, Eyelid surgery is sometimes performed in combination with other procedures such as eyebrow lifts, Botox® injections or even Facelifts.
It is important before undertaking any surgical procedure to consult fully with your surgeon. Your surgeon will need to know what medications you are taking, if you suffer from any illness, and if you have any vision problems.
