Breast Lift Continued

Breast lift procedures have the best results with women with smaller sized breasts. While a breast lift is also effective for larger breasts, the results may not be as enduring for those with heavier breasts. In being evaluated for breast lift surgery, your plastic surgeon will examine your breasts and take measurements. Pictures may be taken for medical records. The plastic surgeon will evaluate the size and shape of the breasts, the condition of the skin, and the placement of the nipples and areolas.

Are Breast Lifts Safe?

Breast lift procedures are usually safe when performed by a qualified plastic surgeon. Insurance policies do not generally cover the procedure.

Breast lifts can be performed at any age, but waiting until after breast development has stopped is usually recommended. It is also suggested that women wait until after having children, as giving birth and nursing children may have unpredictable effects on the size and shape of your breasts. A breast lift performed before having children should not affect breast feeding abilities, but it still warrants having a conversation with your plastic surgeon.
